Faixa BJJ

Mat hours, stripes and belts, in one registry.

Faixa BJJ counts the hours of students and instructors and shows staff who is getting close to their next grade. It sits alongside the management software your gym already uses, without replacing it. The instructor always decides the promotion.

It is for people who train at the gym: staff create your account, or you register through your gym's link and staff approve the request.

Roll call on the instructor's phone: each attendance counts as one hour.

What it does

One registry
A single profile for students and instructors, because in BJJ the same person is often both. Roles change over time and the history stays.
Roll call or QR check-in
The instructor marks who is present in a few taps, or the student scans the gym's QR code. Check-in opens only around the class and, if the gym has set its location, works only on site.
Hours that count themselves
One attendance is one hour, and nobody types them in. Hours from before the app are estimated from the join date and stay labelled as an estimate.
Criteria for every belt
Hour and time-at-rank thresholds the gym can edit. The system flags who has met them: promoting stays the instructor's decision.
Made for the edge of the mat
Built for the phone, in English, Italian and Brazilian Portuguese, with a light and a dark theme.
Each gym's data kept apart
A gym sees only its own members, its own classes and its own attendance.

How it works

  1. Define the classes

Days, times and instructor for each recurring class. The lesson calendar follows from that, with nothing to re-enter each week.

  2. Record attendance

Roll call from a phone, or check-in with the gym's QR code. Each attendance adds one hour to that person's total.

  3. See who is ready

Staff see each person's hours and time at rank, and who has met the criteria. Then they decide.

Belts as they are

Every grade shows as a belt with its stripes: the adult ladder from white to black, and the children's from grey to green.

People who train see their own belt, how long they have had it and how many hours they have trained. No countdown and no verdict: the instructor chooses when it is time.

Adults

  • White belt
  • Blue belt
  • Purple belt
  • Brown belt
  • Black belt

Kids

  • Grey belt
  • Yellow belt
  • Orange belt
  • Green belt

What it deliberately does not do

It is not a full management system and does not want to become one. It sits beside what the gym already uses, and covers one thing well.

  • Payments, memberships and invoicing
  • Online sign-up and lead management
  • Competition and tournament management
  • Technical tracking by positional category
